The sulfuric waters used in Busko-Zdrój are a special type of groundwater that is used for therapeutic purposes. The therapeutic sulfur-hydrogen water is sourced from the "Zuzanna" spring in the Winiarska Forest. It is crystal clear with a straw-greenish hue and a distinctive odor. The hydrogen sulfide content is 45 mg/l, and the iodine content is 2.2 mg/l. From the moment the water is sourced until it is prepared for bathing, its physical and chemical composition remains unchanged.
The National Institute of Public Health – National Institute of Hygiene has issued a certificate confirming the therapeutic properties of sulfuric water.
Sulfuric waters are used for full baths, half baths, or partial baths, as well as for drinking treatments under the strict supervision of a doctor. Sulfur baths have significant therapeutic applications. They exhibit anti-inflammatory, regenerative, detoxifying, and keratoplastic effects.Sulfur baths should ideally be taken in cycles of 12-18 treatments, once a day. The temperature of the therapeutic water should not exceed 37°C. The recommended bath time is between 15-20 minutes. During the bath, the chest should not be submerged, and it is also not recommended to pour water over the body – you should lie still. After the bath, it is recommended to rest for 30-60 minutes, and after approximately 3-4 hours, you may wash yourself.
