The ruins of the Teutonic castle in Toruń are remnants of the first fortress built by the Teutons on Polish lands in the 13th century. The castle was an important strategic point but was destroyed by the citizens of Toruń in the 15th century during the anti-Teutonic uprising. Today, the ruins are a tourist attraction where part of the underground can be visited.
